Commemorative Event: Advancing Access at UF - 30 Years of the ADA and Disability Inclusion

July 27, 2020, from 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM

The American’s with Disabilities Act has created opportunities for equitable participation for people with disabilities over the last 30 years. The impact of the ADA at UF has been a catalyst to enhance the success of students, faculty, and staff with disabilities by ensuring an accessible environment in which to learn and work.

The Office for Accessibility and Gender Equity and the Disability Resource Center invites you to join us as we reflect on our past and celebrate advancements in access. Exploring the ways that UF has been a leader; cultivating a culture of disability inclusion within the Gator nation.

Disability Allyship Program Faculty/Staff Training

Join the Disability Resource Center's DAP: Disability Allyship Program. The DRC aims to address barriers andDisability Allyship Program Seal facilitate an inclusive experience for UF students with disabilities. While some physical barriers are more easily identified, the most difficult barriers to address are attitudinal and deeply held beliefs. This training will help participants gain an understanding on how society shapes our ideas and beliefs about disability and how we can challenge deficit thinking.

Disability Liberation Online Art Gallery

The DRC invites UF students, staff, and faculty to show your disability art! To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the ADA, celebrate disability activism, and to increase the visibility of disability communities, the DRC presents our annual "Disability Liberation” Online Art Gallery. Artist work will be featured on the DRC website and social media platforms from July 31, 2020, through December 2020. Deadline for submissions: July 13th, 2020.

The Career Connections Center invites you to sit down with your host, Keira as she chats with fellow career coaches and friends of the C3 on the intersection of career and ability, in two special episodes commemorating the anniversary of the ADA.
